Captain Norbert Aschmann served as Chief Executive Officer of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement until the end of 2017. Previously, he was on the management board of the German shipowner E.R. Schiffahrt and held senior management positions within Hanseatic Shipping. Prior to his 20 years’ experience ashore, he served at sea for a decade reaching the rank of Master. Captain Aschmann holds a degree in Maritime Economics from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
Stelios Demetriou was appointed as Executive Director and Chief Risk Officer of Hanseatic Capital Management Limited. He previously worked for C.P. Palema Administrator Ltd, C.P. Palema Ltd and KPMG in the fields of fund administration, corporate services and assurance. Stelios holds a degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance from Montclair State University. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a holder of the Advanced Certificate in Fund Administration.

Markos Kyprianou served as the Foreign Minister of Cyprus from 2008 to 2011, and as the EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection from 2004 to 2008. He has served previously as EU Commissioner following budgetary affairs, as well as the Minister of Finance of Cyprus. Prior to that, he was elected three consecutive times to the House of Representatives of Cyprus, serving his constituency for more than a decade. He has been practicing law since 1985. Mr. Kyprianou holds a degree in Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a Master’s degree LLM with emphasis on International Law and Tax Law from Cambridge University and an LLM with emphasis on Business Law and Taxation from Harvard Law School.
Demetris Nicolaou was appointed as Executive Director and Head of Portfolio Management of Hanseatic Capital Management Ltd. He previously worked for Alpha Bank Limited as the Head of Asset Management and as the Co-Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Management LLC in the USA. Demetris holds a degree in Finance & Economics and an MBA in International Finance, both from the American University Kogod School of Business. He is a CFA Charterholder and a holder of the Certificate in Company Direction by the U.K. Institute of Directors.

Sir Christopher Pissarides is Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and holder of the Norman Sosnow Chair in Economics. In 2010, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics, jointly with Peter A. Diamond and Dale Mortensen, for his contributions to the theory of search frictions and macroeconomics. He has been a consultant for the World Bank, the European Commission, the Bank of England and the OECD. Sir Christopher holds directorships in other funds and financial institutions.
Yiannis Sykas joined Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement in 2008 and served as the Deputy CFO from January 2012 until July 2015 when he was appointed as Director of Strategy and Product Development. Yiannis previously worked for KPMG, Moore Stephens and PwC in the field of assurance and business advisory with shipping as his industry focus. Yiannis holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from the University of Liverpool and an MBA in Information Technology Management from the University of Leicester. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
